A couple years ago when I first started putting this recipe collection together it was with my sister in mind. She is a very picky eater, and she loves French Fries, so I had to includd a recipe for them!
Ingredients:
4 medium baking potatoes (6-8 oz.) each
cooking oil
salt, or seasoned salt
Directions: If desired, peal potatoes. To prevent darkening, immerse pealed potatoes in ice water until ready to cut. Cut Potatoes lengthwise into 3/8 inch strips. Return strips to ice water. In a heavy, deep, 3 quart sauce pan, or a deep fat fryer, heat oil to 365 degrees F. Pat potatoes dry to prevent splattering. Using a spoon, carefully drop potatoes into the hot oil a few at a time. Fry until fries are golden brown, about five to six minutes. Turn them once about half way through frying. Using a slotted spoon, carefully remove fries from oil. Let drain on paper towels. If desired sprinkle with salt. Or you can try seasoning them with a mixture of 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt, and 1/2 teaspoon seasoned pepper.
Serves 4-6
